New Enthusiast is the brainchild of Jordy Bertram, John Gillooly, and Nathan Davis. Unsatisfied with our previous media lives, we (stupidly?) decided that the world needed a decent Australian focused games and technology website.

This site builds upon us being gamers and tech nerds from way back.

Editor in Chief John Gillooly is an award-winning technology and games journalist. For many years, he was the technical editor at Atomic magazine (of which he was a proud member of the launch team) and later worked for Australian Personal Computer (APC) magazine. Over the years, he has also written for a gamut of technology publications like PC Authority, itnews.com.au, and CRN.

Editor Nathan Davis is another veteran of the technology journalism scene, but is only ever capable of runner-up awards. With several years at Atomic magazine under his belt, he swiftly winged it freelance-style. He's written for a panorama of publications, including APC, PC Authority, Rolling Stone, PC Magazine (Singapore), and numerous public toilets. He also builds and maintains the website, so hate on him for any issues.

Managing Director Jordy Bertram is also a veteran of both the media and distribution sides of the technology industry. He's both the go-to man for advertising and someone rapidly developing the skills needed to keep crazed tech journalists under control. Which largely involves yelling. And a bit of arm waving.

Between us, we've reviewed thousands of products and games over the years. Most at home in testing labs, our time in front of a test bench means that New Enthusiast has one of the most experienced review teams in Australia.

Our aim is to provide straight and honest technology and gaming coverage that builds upon this experience. From technology reviews that look at what really matters to gamers, to games reviews that go beyond the couple of paragraphs and a number norm, we are more than just another bloody games and technology website.

Alongside a motley crew of sometimes-contributors with experience writing for titles like APC and PC World, we hope you'll see that New Enthusiast brings a technically sound, slightly offbeat take to the world of gaming and technology.
